Hello Everyone! Welcome to week 49 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! We are super close to the end of the year now! While the Bible Art Journaling Challenge will look different next year, it won’t be going away. Yet, I am close to finishing up this first year and can hardly believe how quickly the time has passed. I always find that time passes quickest, when we are living [click to continue…]
Hello Everyone! Welcome to week 46 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! I’m starting this post sitting in a coffee shop in downtown Portland, Oregon, USA, where the atmosphere is buzzing with activity and life. A fun place to write for a change. I filmed a tutorial for this Bible Art Journaling Challenge, before I left England and am writing while away from the studio. I am grateful for the opportunity to do something I passionately love, which allows me the flexibility of still being in touch with you while traveling. It is hard work but well worth every minute of it.
Last week I did not have time to share a post, because I was at the Scrapbook.com studio in Phoenix, Arizona. After many weeks of work behind the scenes, we spent 5 long days filming a great class in the studio. I’ll share a blog post about it when I’ve returned from my trip. I’ve come to Portland to visit family for Thanksgiving and will be taking the week off.
But enough of filling you in. I’ve got a little tutorial for you today as [click to continue…]
Hello Everyone! Welcome to week 42 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! The past several days, I’ve really been focusing in on praising God. Praising Him in ALL circumstances. Not FOR all things but rather, IN all things. God is not the author of bad things, so, I don’t thank Him for bad. But I DO, praise Him no matter what is going on around me. He is the One who can fix all things, give grace for all things and breathe new life on all things.
Join me in cracking open the Word of God, as we step out of our personal circumstances and into His perfect presence which changes everything. It’s time to praise Him on the margin!

Seriously though, you’re going to want to stick around for this. I’m about to show you how to create Bible art on the edge of your pages, times 2! In my tutorial video today, I’m showing how to create on the edges of BOTH a Journaling Bible with plain edges, AND a Bible with [click to continue…]
Hello Everyone! Welcome to week 38 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! I’ve got a super fun Neocolor II coloring challenge for you, with some Illustrated Faith and Lawn Fawn stamps! You might remember, I am trying to catch up with my regular weekly posts for the Bible Art Journaling Challenge. Earlier this week, I posted what should have been last week and now, I am posting what would have been on Tuesday this week. I am mostly back on track to feeling 100%, but I am pacing myself. I am hoping to have enough time to have this coming Tuesday’s challenge, back on schedule.
Many of you have told me not to bother catching up. But, I said I would do a weekly challenge and I always want to be a person of my word. I don’t want to finish the year, one week short of what I set out to start. It’s just how I roll. And no, this isn’t me spilling the beans, about if this Bible Art Journaling Challenge will be happening next year. You’ll just have to stick around to find out what fun is in the making! 😉
Neocolor II Watercolor Crayons
I have shared Neocolor II watercolor crayons with you before. Search my Neocolor II blog posts, to see those posts with video tutorials! As was pointed out to me recently, watercolor can sometimes look quite, well, watered down. When I look at artwork like that, I just want to cry out, “Where is the color!?!” Only kidding. But seriously… this need not be the situation!
Firstly, watercolor can be layered much like other paints. It just needs a different approach which I’ve come to love in all its vibrant beauty. Secondly, the quality of [click to continue…]
Hello Everyone! It is week 33 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! This week I finally felt it was time to share about the topic of rest. It came at a great time personally but I know many of you have requested I share about rest, which was why I chose the topic for this week…. and will stay on the topic next week! If you’re in need of refreshing, stick around.
I fell in love with watercolor through the use of watercolor pencils and when I discovered the Caran d’Ache Neocolor II watercolor crayons… well… let’s just say, I had some months of personal artistic bliss. In my restraint, I’ve tried to [click to continue…]
Hello Everyone! It is week 32 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! So, if you’ve been following me long, you know I’m a little obsessed with neon these days. I try not to use it all the time, so I don’t bore you to tears with my enjoyment of bright. Balance is always good. 🙂 Today though, it really fit the bill. I’m talking about worship and when I think of worship, I pretty much find myself wanting to worshipfully twirl in wide open spaces with abandon, like a blissful kid of THE King of all. Bright neon red, orange, pink and yellow scraped over the surface of my page with… yes… Illustrated Faith stamps. It just fit today.
If you’ve not yet heard of Shanna Noel or her company Illustrated Faith, you are in for a real treat. She’s got [click to continue…]
Hello Everyone! It is week 30 of the Bible Art Journaling Challenge! I was overwhelmed by the response to my week 28 Bible Art Journaling Challenge which covered simple colored pencil blending. I shouldn’t have been surprised, given the countless times I’ve been asked about them. But, I guess I had no idea how wide-spread the desire is, to learn about them. In that tutorial I shared about how to blend two colors of colored pencil together. Simple stuff.
Today, I am keeping it simple still. I want to share about [click to continue…]
