Deeper Still lesson 5
We’re diving into a little book in the Bible called Micah. He was a prophet. As we adventure into the depths of God, we’re looking at a variety of mysterious and wonderful things. Developing this lesson took me by surprise but I really feel God has a message for you in it and I’m excited to share it with you!
Enjoy the video and then remember to scroll lower into this post for more, including fancy new links to all the supplies I share in the video!
Scripture
I used my Double Column ESV Journaling Bible, for this lesson and the scripture for this challenge is Micah 7:7…
“But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me.“

I love this week’s lesson! I can’t wait to try it. Could you recommend a good outlining pen? The ones that I have stop working for me if I try to use them over page prep or even over graphite traced lines. It’s like it gums them up or something. Can you help? Thanks so much! I always anxiously await the next lesson, because I enjoy your teaching and inspiration so much!!!

Hi Linda! I’m glad you’re enjoying the lessons! <3 The biggest key to outlining over page prep is in the technique, over what you use. I personally recommend Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen, the S or F size are great. But, really, it's about technique. Check out my post here to learn about it. It was written a while ago so I do recommend Dina Wakley clear gesso now, but the technique is the same. https://rebekahrjones.com/felt-tipped-pens-on-gesso/

What pens did you use over the ink?

Hi Rebekah,
I haven’t been ‘around’ for quite a while and hope you are well.
I see that you have changed Gesso brands. May I ask why? And/or how do they work differently on paper?
I also wonder which Artist quality watercolor paint brand you find the best in regards to color intensity, light fastness, and loveliest to work with? I am not familiar with artist quality water color paints and wonder which one would be the best to invest in?
Thank you.
