Hello Everyone! If you are signed up for my emails, you’ll have noticed that I mentioned yesterday I would be announcing some locations I’m traveling to. After some thought yesterday, I decided it would be most helpful to you if I put this in a blog post, rather than social media. So, here I am sharing some exciting news with you! I’ve been bursting to share this for months and so thrilled to now! You can finally know why I’ve been so busy! ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes, I did say locations (more than one place!), so stick around to see if I’ll be near you!

I appreciate so much, those of you on this creative journey with me and want to share the journey openly with you. With cup of tea at my side, I sit a write some things I want you to be included in on.

Scrapbook.com

In August, the sweet folks at Scrapbook.com approached me. They asked to hire me to come teach a class to be available for their online education platform. After some prayerful consideration, I accepted and have been working hard on this course ever since. What will the class be about? Bible art journaling of course! Full of art tutorial goodness and devotionals you’ve come to enjoy from me.

As you might already know, I am an affiliate of Scrapbook.com, who are the world’s largest online scrapbook supply shop, with over one million members. This means I make a small commission when I share products of theirs, which I love and am happy to recommend. They have a lot of supplies which work great for Bible art journaling and they ship worldwide. These are key reasons I became an affiliate and have since come to know how genuine and wonderful they are as people too.

Scrapbook.com online classes are often taken by thousands of students and I understand Bible art journaling is a topic their members are hungry to learn about. I am honored to be their first international teacher and Bible art journaler. I find it exciting that they plan to offer the class free of charge to members and membership is free! ๐Ÿ™‚ So you’ll get to benefit!

I am a member on Scrapbook.com and have slowly been adding my art onto my profile there as time permits. Feel free to go check me out on there! As a side note to my faithful supporters, if you want me to get a commission for any of the products I scrapbook comrecommend, I do get credit when you click on their links here on my blog (or YouTube video). I do not get credit when you click on links on my profile directly on their site. Thanks for your continued support here on my blog and enjoy their site! It is loaded with great features beyond just shopping and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it if you haven’t already. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I fly out this Sunday November 15th, 2015 and will be filming all week in the Scrapbook.com studio in Mesa, Arizona (essentially a suburb of Phoenix). Pray I don’t have jet lag! I usually only get it traveling East. As I’ll be flying West from the United Kingdom, I’m praying I wake up ready to take on the studio, after a 3 flight and 3 country journey the day before. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it is a little kiss from heaven that my first ever art course, will be filmed and produced out of Phoenix, Arizona. My “Grandma Allen” (dad’s mom), was a fine artist. As a child, I sewed my first piece of clothing with my grandma, while my grandparents lived in Phoenix and I loved visiting them there. It’s also where I lost my first tooth wrestling with my grandpa! Oops! ha

Phoenix was a place very dear to their heart. My grandma was an incredible influence on my creative growth over the years. After my grandpa passed away, she eventually returned to Phoenix, where she ended this chapter of life very fulfilled. I feel like the biggest inheritance I got from my grandma, was the input of creative understanding and thinking. She used to drag my brother and I endlessly to museums and galleries, pointing out what to observe and how to learn from the creatives, whose work we encountered. How sweet of God to send me to the city she loved most, as the place to have my first art course produced from.

The potential in this course with Scrapbook.com, to touch people with the love of Jesus and help them encounter Him through creativity, is exciting and an honor. I hope you will pray with me…

  1. That my time in the Scrapbook.com studio will be really led by God as we all work on this stage of the project together.
  2. That they will know just what to do in editing and find it comes easy, despite how much film they will have to edit.
  3. And most of all, that once it is released, as people are drawn to the class, they would encounter the love of God in the pages of their Bible in life transforming ways.

I promise to let you know when the course is ready. We’ve all put a lot of work into this so far and have some weeks of work left before it is ready. In the meantime, I hope you’ll go check out Scrapbook.com and create a membership, so you’re ready for the fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

My heart for creatives like you

You might be new to me, or simply only know about my more recent Bible Art Journaling Challenge this year, so I want to share a quick bit about my heart for you. In reality, my heart for helping people encounter Jesus through creativity, goes deep and even further back than my rather recent Bible art journaling tutorials with devotionals. I grew up with my mom and grandma investing in my creative life and how to use it to minister to those around me. I often saw my grandma on scaffolding in churches doing murals. I regularly helped my mom as she gathered ladies for craft nights, which were rich with lives touched by community.

My grandpa and dad were both contractors (builders), all of my growing up years and I had the joy of often being “on the job” watching them build churches, retreat centers and homes; another creative expression and hard work modeled to us kids. My parents were also elders in our church of 5,000 and so I grew up surrounded by creativity and ministry life in my family.

If you are one who knows about my great-grandpa (dad’s grandpa), A. A. Allen, who was a famous minister in the 1950’s – 1960’s; you might find it a fun side note that he enjoyed doing all the decorating in their house and was quite good at it! Even down to the wallpapered closets! ๐Ÿ™‚ This creativity thing and using it for God, is in my blood which I am so blessed by.

Anyway, I was raised around creativity and using it as a tool to help people encounter Jesus. In 2006-2007, I was blessed to take time studying under Theresa Dedmon while in Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, California, (where I met my husband). ๐Ÿ™‚ Once married in England, I founded the Prophetic Arts for Jesus group on Facebook. My heart was to have a place for creative people to lean in to Jesus, find his heartbeat, share it through creativity and have community backing them up in the journey. It has become so much more and is now a community of thousands of amazing creatives who represent over 50 nations, all seeking to spread God’s love through creativity. I am honored to lead this community so rich with heart, vision and love for one another and the world around each of us.

At the beginning of this year, I started the Bible Art Journaling Challenge. As you may know, Bible art journaling is part of the growing Illustrated Faith and Bible doodling movement, where many are creating on the pages of their Bible. The idea is to engage more freely with the Word of God in new ways and to record personally inspiring scriptures in creative and artistic ways, which serve to remind us of moments in our personal journey with God. I love art journaling in my Bible and decided I wanted to create community, while sowing in to those who would enjoy some creative tips and spiritual insight along the way. I have been so blessed by the response and ability to impact lives. Long may it grow and continue!

I love to teach the Word of God and love helping people grow in creative confidence so they can lose focus on creative skill and lean in to simply creating in God’s presence. From that place, we are transformed and are able to help others encounter Jesus. It is a beautiful cycle I am investing my life on making a reality for anyone who wants to come on the journey with me.

Regardless if you are on this journey with me because of my Prophetic Arts for Jesus community, or Bible Art Journaling Challenge, we all share something as a wider community. We love creating in God’s presence and sharing His love with others in creative ways. The longer I do this art ministry, the more in common I find between us all. There is so much for us to learn and enjoy in the company of one another.

Cooped up in my studio here in Southwest England, I don’t often get a chance to come hang out with you in person. But, I’ll be traveling and if you’re nearby, I hope to see you!

Creatives Hangout in 2 cities!

As you can imagine, I am incredibly busy getting ready for this big course, (shh… recent 70 hour work weeks!!). Before I head back to England, I’ll be taking some time in Phoenix and then Portland, Oregon, to rest with family and friends.

Even though I don’t have time to prepare to do any workshops or retreats on this trip, I can’t resist the chance to hang out with any of you who might be near me! Once I’ve completed my time in the Scrapbook.com studio next week, I want to hang out with you!

Mark your calendar! Laid back fun for a couple hours with any who can drop-in!

  • Central Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, November 21st!
  • Portland, Oregon on Tuesday, November 24th!

If you are near and would like to come, please comment on this blog post below saying which Creatives Hangout city you’d like to come to! Once I have a better understanding of the interest, I’ll announce a time of day and location in the area. I’m not asking for commitment, just interest.

The Bible Art Journaling Challenge

I imagine you’re wondering how I’ll continue with the Bible Art Journaling Challenge this next few weeks, while in America. I have been working REALLY hard these past weeks to film extra so I can write while away from my studio, as much as possible. By the time I fly out this Sunday, I will know how much of the coming 3 weeks, I’ll be able to release while I am away. I will update this post right at the bottom, to tell you when I get to that point.

The reality is, I need to also take a break so I will need to just see how far I get before leaving. Either way, I’ll be making up anything I am behind on, once I return home on December 4th, and any jet lag has subsided. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And if I do get behind, it will make an excellent chance for you to go back and enjoy any of my Bible Art Journaling Challenge archive, which you’ve not yet taken on! Remember, you don’t ever need to use the supplies I use in any Bible Art Journaling Challenge. You only need to use the scripture. How many challenges have you completed this year so far? ๐Ÿ™‚

So many of you are already planning what next year looks like for you and hoping for me to spill the beans about what this Bible Art Journaling Challenge will or won’t look like next year. I’ll share soon! Exciting stuff in the works! Rest assured that the whole of the 2015 Bible Art Journaling Challenge will remain free and available on my blog, for you and friends/family to start at any given time. You are never late to the party! ๐Ÿ™‚

When this year finishes, I’ll end up with this 2015 Bible Art Journaling Challenge, essentially being a year long free course with weekly videos of tutorial and devotional. I’m so glad to have this free on my blog for all who are hungry to grow in God with creativity as a tool to encounter Him in the Word. And, I’m excited to share what is coming! I just need to go pack for my trip and share when I get a free moment. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you so very much for coming on this journey with me. The best is yet to come!

You are loved. x
